GameStop VP Embezzled Money, Pleads Guilty

Poor, poor Frank Christopher Olivera… made up a fake company and for almost 2 years cut checks to them all in order to try and embezzle almost $2 Million from the big used games company. From July 2009 to April 2011 Olivera was making payments to a company called Cloud Communications LLC, a company he owned and whose only purpose was to take that money and send it to his personal accounts.

The former VP plead guilty in court today and could face up to 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. I guess with all those billions the company made Franky thought $2 Million wouldn’t really be noticed. Alas, GameStop found out, fired him, and is now working with authorities to bring out all the details as to what he did. I have a feeling however that the initial plead of Guilty could lead to a sentence nowhere near the maximum.
