Last of the Nintendo news is the Wii U can expect a new 3D Mario game and a new Mario Kart, yet nothing of either game was shown on the Nintendo Direct Event. The Mario 3D game will be made by the same team responsible for Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 as well as Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS. This game as well as the latest in the Mario Kart series will be shown in playable format at E3, giving fans hope that they could expect either or both titles before the end of 2013.
Nintendo also announced that E3 2013 will be the first stage to show ANYTHING about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. Iwata did not say the game would be in playable format, but we will see how the project is moving along. Hopes for Smash to be a 2013 title looks a little slim, but come June we will know for sure.
